Phil Santos

My work started with painting downtown Providence cityscapes almost 20 years ago. After moving to Los Angeles, it evolved into pop culture portraits, palette knife painting, and many more subjects and styles. I have worked professionally in the arts in a variety of jack of all trade roles. Including painting murals for businesses and private clients, Live Painting at events in West LA, curating dozens of art shows and artists at a Street Art Gallery, and installing art at Bergamot Station. Companies I have freelanced for include Bacardi, Annapurna Pictures, Royal Personal Training, Musik Box, Kitchen Mouse, Fabric Studios, Cinedrones, and the cities of Mar Vista and Palms.

The neon portraits are inspired by influential people of all kinds and several events inspired the creation of the art. My love for working large scale, previous speed painting with an art crew, my love for the Blues, and the 1980's neon style. As a bonus the paint used is particularly vibrant with pigments. Only made in LA: Nova Color.

I am now living in Rhode Island again and employed as a welder for Electric Boat.
